Challenge #10: Keep A Food Journal

Challenge 10 Yes! I'm squeezing it in.

We've challenged ourselves not to eat between meals, not to eat late, not to look at our phones, computers, TV, etc while eating, and to relax before we eat AND to walk after we eat. Phew! That may seem like a lot of rules but realistically, it's simple and simplifying. Hopefully, by doing just one at a time this past month you've experienced just that.


The last challenge that I would like you to try for a couple of days is a food journal. As I've mentioned before, Ayurveda is about getting to know YOUR OWN BODY. We are unique and we respond to things differently. By putting attention on your what, when, how and where you eat, you will notice patterns. It will be easier for you and/or your Ayurvedic practitioner to troubleshoot symptoms like weight loss or gain, bloat, gas, rashes, acne, constipation or diarrhea. Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be long term- make a commitment to do it for at least 3-5 days.


You may be surprised that patterns are evident. Recognizing those patterns is a huge first step towards better digestion. :)
